NOVANET DISTRICT GUIDELINES
EXPECTATIONS
* Attendance is a MUST. Ten absences excused or not, will dismiss you from this accelerated credit program.
* Be on time for class. This entails being in front of a computer starting up your NovaNet course schedule before the tardy bell rings.
* Start with the first course that appears on your NovaNet Schedule. (Nova Keys)
* Complete the courses’ modules in the correct order.
* No food! Only water is acceptable.
* All tests will be taken individually. No cooperative learning on pre or post-tests.
* You must take good notes to be successful.
GRADING
* All work is graded by the NovaNet program
* NovaNET prescribes appropriate modules through pre-tests.
* Post-tests are given after all lessons are done. The program will advance the student to the next module when mastery is obtained.
* Post-tests will be re-assigned, if mastery is not obtained. All students must attempt a minimum of three times to achieve a score of 80% or better. If not achieved after three attempts, the best of the three scores can be used in averaging the course grade or the average of the three tests can be used for the course grade.*
* The students will only receive a course grade when the course is completed.
* No grade will appear on interims or 1st and 3rd quarter grade reports.
ALL NOVANET COURES FOLLOW DISTRICT GRADING SCALE
| 90-100 | A |
| 80-89 | B |
| 70-79 | C |
| 60-69 | D |
| 59 or less | F |
* Due to the challenging nature of the NovaNET program and the individualized processing of the student learner, teachers are given the authority to use discretion in averaging test grades to advance the student to the next module. Teacher discretion may be used when the student has clocked at least one hour past the average completion time for the module, taken adequate notes, and taken the post test at least three times without achieving the 80% required for natural progression.
